As the "Express" implies, this is not a full-service sit down restaurant with white glove service lmfao. It's QSR quick-service restaurant. "Moghul" meaning they specialize in Northern and Indo-Chinese fusion dishes. I'd never get basic or southern dishes here like chaat, dal, or dosa here as a result although the dosa cart is popular. So I legit don't get these weird reviews. This place was unanimously suggested by a dozen different Indian friends, and we can see why. The food is PHENOMENAL! We've been here 6 times but admittedly have been unadventurous on the menu simply because the Gobi Manchurian, Lamb Rogan Josh, and various chicken stews and Saag Paneer blow our taste buds away and leave us with soulfully-full bellies every single time. Our new comfort food restaurant. They have a bakery, pizzeria, and full liquor license catering hall next door. One day we'll try those too (super curious about Indian naan/kulcha pizza), but if you leave deeply satisfied and full of contentment by the same dishes every time, you'd stay the course! We eat here once a month. The one dish I'd love to see is Shrimp Nargisi, my absolute favorite.

Moghul Express is one of the best places for North Indian cuisine in Edison. However, there is one aspect that I hope the management will reconsider. The restaurant employs an elderly gentleman outside whose primary role seems to be saluting and directing guests. While he is courteous and simply doing his job, this practice feels outdated and somewhat feudal, especially in the U.S. Most guests can easily find their way inside, and I hope the management considers giving him a more meaningful role within the restaurant instead. This is not a criticism of the gentleman, but a suggestion to move away from a practice that doesnβt seem necessary. I share this feedback with respect, as I truly enjoy dining here.

Went for lunch to this place and it turned out to be one of the best spots for classic Indian curries and appetizers. We tried the dahi wale kebab which were a perfect combo with the green chutney and the mutton curry for the mains. Definitely went with the gralic naan for the breads. Amazing food, quick service and a good vibe. For the dessert we got sold on orange kulfi in a shell and ordered that however it was just ordinary malai kulfi just very well presented. Highly recommend the appetizers and mains here!

We had a very good experience at this Edison location. We tasted their catered food for the first time at a friendβs event & we really liked it. We decided to go to the restaurant & it did not disappoint us. People working here are polite & welcoming. We ordered mild & it was perfect. Mild & Delicious. In our experience, here in NJ, very few places really understand that Mild is Mild not Medium & this place is one of those few ones. Definitely worth returning to. Thank you! Keep up the good work.π

I recently visited a vegetarian Indian restaurant and had a great time. The atmosphere was warm, colorful, and full of character. It really added to the experience. The food was fresh and flavorful, with a good variety of dishes for both spice lovers and those who prefer something milder. The service was good, though not quite exceptional. The staff was friendly, but a little slow at times. Still, the overall vibe and quality of the food made it a place worth returning to.
